By stage

What you need, when.

Startups over-buy early and under-buy late. The right program follows the company: the contract you're about to sign, the round you're about to close, the team you're about to hire.

Coverage

What a tech company carries.

Plain-English summaries. Your policy documents always control.

01

Technology E&O

Claims that your software or service failed and cost a customer money — the core exposure of any SaaS business, and the clause in every enterprise MSA.

Contract-required
02

Cyber liability

Breach response, notification, forensics, ransomware, business interruption, and third-party privacy claims. Usually written together with E&O on one form.

Contract-required
03

Directors & officers

Protects founders, directors, and the company from claims about how the business is run — by investors, regulators, or competitors. Required at the first priced round.

Investors
04

Employment practices liability

Wrongful termination, discrimination, and harassment claims. Often packaged with D&O for private companies; stands alone as headcount grows.

Headcount
05

General liability / BOP

Slip-and-fall and premises exposure your landlord and event venues require. Cheap and usually mandatory for the lease.

Lease
06

Workers' compensation

Required once you have employees, and complicated once they're in several states. We handle multi-state placement.

07

Fiduciary & crime

Fiduciary covers decisions about your benefit plans; crime covers employee theft and social-engineering fraud that cyber forms may sublimit.

Key contracts review

Send the insurance clause from the MSA or the term sheet. We tell you what it requires, what's negotiable, and what it costs — before you sign.

Service

Simplified summaries for general information. Coverage, limits, and exclusions vary by carrier and policy. We are not your lawyer; contract review is for insurance requirements only.

FAQ

Startup questions.

What do we need to sign an enterprise contract?

Most MSAs require tech E&O combined with cyber — often $1M to $5M — plus general liability and workers' comp, and sometimes the customer named as additional insured. Send us the clause; we build the program to it.

When do we need D&O?

Typically at the first priced round, because investors taking board seats require it — and whenever you have employees, since private-company D&O usually bundles employment practices liability.

Does cyber cover an outage of our product?

Cyber covers your own breach response and interruption from a security event. Customers claiming your software failed and cost them money is a tech E&O matter. Most tech companies buy both on one form so the two don't argue.

What do you need for a quote?

What the product does, revenue and ARR, headcount by state, your largest customer contracts' insurance clauses, cap table stage, and any prior policies or claims. A short application does the rest.
